About the Role
Nextbite's first Corporate/Intellectual Property Paralegal supports the legal department in arenas, including trademark clearance, trademark prosecution, copyright registration, intellectual property dispute, and litigation support. The paralegal will work closely with the General Counsel to provide general assistance and oversee Nexbite's IP portfolio.
Please note: this is a remote-first role, but candidates must be located in, or open to relocating to, Los Angeles, CA
The impact you will have:Work with General Counsel to manage dockets, prepare and file trademark documents with the USPTO, handle foreign and domestic prosecution, prepare correspondence related to filings and upcoming deadlines, coordinate with other corporate departmentsConduct and order trademark searches for corporate trademark needsDocument management and assisting with the preparation and processing of non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, and various corporate contractsManage the corporate document repositoryMaintain general corporate housekeeping matters, including entity formation, entity, dissolution, foreign entity qualifications, and DBAsCalendar meetings with General Counsel and taking notesReviewing licensing agreements with the General CounselAssist General Counsel with day-to-day activities as needed and support the legal department
What you bring to the role:4+ years of experience as a Paralegal, working with trademarks is a mustBS or BA Degree + Paralegal Certification preferred but not requiredAt least 1-2+ years of experience with trademark prosecution and knowledge of trademark processes associated with these areas of the lawExperience with Intellectual Property docketing systemsExcellent computer skills that include MS Word/Outlook including Google Docs and docketing programsStrong written and verbal communications skills and ability to interact with various departments and levels of managementIntellectual curiosity and eager to grow and develop
