About the Role
We are seeking an Innovation R&D Chef to join our growing team, working closely with the VP of Food Experience (FoodX) to create dynamic, creative virtual menus for restaurant partners of all types across North America ... optimized for delivery. Because we commit to providing our restaurant client partners with world-class support in all areas, our Culinary Operations programs must function at the very highest level. The impact you will have:Interact with Nextbite’s Brand Development and Food Experience (FoodX) teams to generate delicious, easy-to-operationalize menus and menu items to incorporate into our Innovation pipeline for future implementation by Nextbite restaurant partners. With the guidance and support of the VP of FoodX, you will help design menus that maximize ingredient crossover within those operators’ existing ordering guides, equipment capabilities, and staffing plans.Build, inspire, and oversee a team of culinarians who will develop and bench-test menu items, always pushing the limits of flavor and excitement. You will drive the R&D and testing of all Innovation menu items, providing specific input and guidance to optimize menu item fit with existing operations while creating new opportunities to provide cutting-edge, on-trend offerings in the off-premise space.Participate in Nextbite’s Enterprise menu and menu item creation processes, collaborating directly with the Enterprise R&D Chef to develop new concepts and menus to incorporate into our Enterprise-level restaurant partners’ existing culinary operations. You will contribute your well-rounded creative and innovative culinary perspective to help generate exciting, on-trend concepts that our restaurant partners can produce consistently and deliciously for our end consumers
What you bring to the role:Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Culinary Arts or similar.4 years of culinary leadership experience in a heavily creative, innovative, fast-moving culinary environment, whether restaurant, institutional, R&D lab, or other.Strong track record of team-building and leadership combined with the ability to identify, quantify, and effectively operationalize culinary trends.Desire to work independently in a fast-paced environment, quickly seizing opportunities to drive change without constant direction from leadership.Ability to synthesize a wide range of culinary ideas into compelling oral/written communications and menus.Ability to research and learn new concepts, methods, and systems quickly, answering complex questions about those concepts, methods, and systems.Ability to work on highly diverse, distributed teams Secure Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
