Carbon is looking for a Senior Product Development Manager to lead strategic programs centered around our mission to reinvent how polymeric products are designed and digitally manufactured toward a sustainable future. Product Development Managers drive our success by aligning the cross functional teams at Carbon in the development and commercialization of new resin products.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee product development projects from ideation to launch while leading a cross-functional team comprised of Materials, Engineering, Product Management, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Marketing, and others
  • Ensure team members have a cohesive and methodical approach to product design, verification, and validation
  • Own and communicate program plans and timelines
  • Define a clear strategy for prioritization and resourcing of initiatives within projects
  • Work with Product Management to align the project to product goals & requirements
  • Guide decision-making in resolving product trade offs taking into account product goals and risks
  • Drive accountability to program milestones while surfacing and mitigating risks
  • Partner with the rest of the Resin Development team to define product development and validation processes
  • Requirements:

  • Experience leading new product development, commercialization, and product launches in the materials science space 
  • Ability to identify issues and lead teams in working proactively to address them
  • Technical, project, or program management experience leading cross-functional teams (working with Engineering, Product, Operations/Supply Chain, Customer Service, Marketing, and Finance)
  • Strong communication skills and proven ability to effectively escalate, report status, and relay direction and decisions across organizations, and at all levels of the company
  • Bachelor or Masters degree, preferably in a relevant technical discipline such as Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science, with 8+ years professional work experience in technical program management, product development, technical management, or other cross-functional role in launching new products
  • Familiarity with phase gate approaches to project management
