Director, Talent Acquisition

Carbon is hiring at the fastest pace in company history, and the Talent Acquisition team is growing to meet these needs. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Director, Talent Acquisition will lead both our technical and non-technical recruiting functions from a strategy, people, process, and tools perspective.

As the Talent Acquisition leader at Carbon, you will act as a strategic partner for leaders and managers across our business functions to identify talent needs, deliver proactive recruiting solutions, deploy innovative programs for diversity recruitment, and lead the team to deliver against dynamic hiring plans. You will build great teams that build a great company.

This role is located in our Redwood City, CA office.

What you'll do:

  • Attract, lead, inspire, and develop a strong, high performing team of recruiters, sourcers, and coordinators
  • Build strong, credible relationships with senior leaders and hiring managers as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert
  • Develop and lead both short and long term talent strategies to help the organization meet its aggressive hiring goals
  • Establish a strong recruiting culture which empowers hiring managers to make excellent talent decisions for their team and the company
  • Develop deep insight into candidate and hiring manager experience and continuously improve every stage of experience lifecycle
  • Lead our DEI initiatives as it intersects with hiring to continuously improve our diversity, equity and inclusion efforts
  • Proactively anticipate, lead and direct conversations around complex problems, goals, trade offs and ideas.  Bring innovative solutions to bear in addressing talent acquisition challenges
  • Proactively evaluate and implement creative employer branding strategies in partnership with Marketing
  • In partnership with People Operations and the People Business Partners, assess and optimize processes, tools, training, and systems needed to scale and support the talent acquisition team and hiring managers both short and long term
  • Deploy forecasting, reporting, and analytics rigor to track key recruiting and sourcing metrics and measure progress against goals
  • Identify and partner with external providers as required to ensure hiring needs are met
  • Directly own and manage end-to-end recruitment for executive openings and/or challenging open positions, as needed
  • Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • You have at least 10 years of talent acquisition experience with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • You are an authentic, inspiring, and hands-on leader with experience managing high-performing recruiting teams through hypergrowth
  • You have demonstrated ability of planning and hitting aggressive business and technical recruiting goals in a highly competitive market
  • You bring the experience, track record and reputation for successfully partnering with C-level executives, VPs, directors, and managers to develop strategies and goals to make great hires and build great teams
  • You are passionate about how diversity and inclusion play a key role in a company’s success  and a track record of leading teams to achieve a diverse pipeline of candidates and hires
  • You excel at influencing others and have excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • You’re skilled at using data and analytics to develop insights and drive decisions
  • You have experience leveraging work from agencies and contractors
