The Customer Education Team is responsible for the creation of all curriculum and training materials for Carbon’s end-to-end process. We provide education and training to Carbon customers all over the world.  Content (online courses, printable materials, and videos) is delivered online through our learning management system called Carbon Academy. We are extremely cross-functional and work closely with the Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, Software, Hardware and Materials teams.

The Project Manager will be responsible for prioritizing incoming work, scheduling projects, keeping projects on track and communicating with their manager. Day to day work will involve checking the customer inbox, updating team tasks in Jira, attending meetings to keep tabs on new products or product/process updates, checking in with the team manager to communicate new info and provide updates on team progress, recording minutes for team meetings and completing any small tasks that come up. Carbon is a dynamic, fast-growing company so you must be flexible and adaptable to our ever-evolving needs and priorities.

Responsibilities:

  • Project management
  • Triage incoming work. Work with team members to prioritize and assign projects.
  • Schedule incoming work to ensure proper allocation of team resources and successful delivery of projects
  • Assign tasks based on individual member’s skills and bandwidth.
  • Workload management. Work closely with team members, sometimes multiple times each day, to track progress and manage load..
  • Use Atlassian Jira to track team progress and projects including ticket creation and maintenance.
  • Schedule cross-functional meetings. Send reminders as needed.
  • Manage Education inbox. Respond to customer questions if possible or forward to others (team or outside team) as needed.
  • Information gathering
  • Attend cross-functional meetings to gather information on new product launches, product updates, changes in procedure, etc.
  • Maintain communication with subject matter experts in Product, Software, Materials, Engineering, etc to keep abreast of new developments that need to be communicated to customers.
  • Maintain calendar of launch/release dates to ensure educational assets are delivered on time
  • Manage translation of training content
  • Work with vendor(s) to translate existing documentation into multiple languages.
  • Develop workflow for translating minimum viable content for a new region.
  • Track changes of source documents.
  • Schedule updates of translated documents to ensure they stay current.
  • Content creation/admin
  • Create/maintain content when feasible. Examples include updating a document with a name change, duplicating a course and performing small edits.
  • Assist with administration of the on-line learning system to include curriculum uploads, reporting, and maintenance of the site.
  • Proofreading documents (educational content, presentations, communications).
  • Copywriting. First pass at drafting emails or letters to customers.
  • Internal training materials. Work with other teams to import their slides into Carbon Academy for internal use.
  • Required Relevant Experience and Qualities:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant project management experience
  • BA/BS degree or equivalent
  • Strong Google product skills (Docs, Sheets, Slides)
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Preferred Experience and Qualities: 
  • Software skills
  • Jira, MS Word, Powerpoint, Camtasia, Articulate Rise
  • HTML and CSS coding skills
  • Photography/video experience
  • Experience working at an OEM or other mechanical product company
