What You'll Do
Responsibilities:
- Design and implementation of the overall Power BI architecture, ensuring it aligns with the organization's data governance strategy and long-term goals.
- Manage and optimize existing Power BI infrastructure, Premium Capacity, Licensing.
- Define BI Architecture, Data Access strategy for business teams enforcing Security standards.
- Design and develop complex data models that optimize performance, security, and scalability. Implement data governance best practices, including data security, access control, and data lineage.
- Stay up to date with the latest Power BI features and best practices and identify opportunities to improve the organization's BI capabilities.
- Create Technical standard documentation and processes for Power BI development.
- Integrate Power BI content into websites.
- Good knowledge of reading data from cloud databases like Snowflake, Databricks SQL Warehouse, and Parquet files.
- Hands-on experience in visualization platforms such as Power BI, Qlik, and/or Tableau will be an added advantage.
- Use DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) to create calculated columns, measures, and custom tables.
- Conduct ad-hoc analysis to support business decision-making.
What You May Need to be Successful:- A bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related field is typically preferred. Minimum of 8 to 11 years of work experience required.
- Willingness to occasionally and on project need basis overlap with EST hours / time zones.
- Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, can be beneficial.
- Experience in writing DAX expressions.
- Experience in troubleshooting performance issues in reports.
- Knowledge of query performance tuning, indexes, and understanding of database structure.
- Knowledge of data modeling and data warehouse.
- Knowledge of various databases like MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.
- SQL knowledge - experience in developing complex SQL queries, Stored Procedures.
- Passionate about complex data structures and problem-solving.
- Ability to pick up new data tools and concepts quickly.
- Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative.
- Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Hands-on experience in visualization platforms such as Power BI, Qlik, and/or Tableau will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of Database, SQL Scripting, and BI/Reporting tools is a must.
- Familiarity with python, Databricks & ADF
- Implement various data modelling, visualization, and reporting techniques.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Good knowledge of storyboarding and the ability to use appropriate visuals for the correct representation of data.
- Expertise in selecting the right type of visualizations to effectively communicate data insights.
